LEXINGTON, Ky. • A stunning and bitter end notwithstanding, most of Mizzou’s 2011-2012 basketball season was testament to resourceful and nimble coaching that shaped those Tigers into more than the sum of their parts in a 30-5 run with a four-guard set necessitated by the season-ending injury to forward Laurence Bowers. Their often-exhilarating play left a stamp of promise ahead as first-year MU coach Frank Haith earned multiple national coach of the year honors.
